To live in the hearts of those we love is to never die Our dearest Yuki I cannot believe that we have to say farewell to you on earth so soon. It has been less than two decades since we first met at Selby House. If I am correct that was the first time Keith brought you to your new home which had two strangers (Mom and myself) occupying your nest. You made feel us right at home and blessed us with your love, grace and passion, treated us like family and never letting us feel awkward and uncomfortable. I must have been a burr in your shoes with my multiple return trips, causing the wooden floors to creak at night tiptoeing to the washroom and not forgetting my signature baritone cough keeping everyone awake. Your generosity and hospitality cemented our friendship and our relationship grew so comfortable over the years that have passed by so quickly. There are so many memories .. you dragging me by my ear to take me shopping instead of sitting around the house moping at home, insisting I buy nice things for myself like shoes so classy that I hesitate to wear them on Mumbai’s streets, your constant hunting for kippers for my breakfast, our passionate discussions to get Keith to change the shower, your healthy raddish soup to compensate for all the single malts I consumed, wonderful hours spent with you in your kitchen, your many experiments with Indian cooking using mom’s chicken curry masalas from our home (trying it get it perfect for Keith and Alex)!. I will always carry the memory of my last visit to London. the bus rides to the hospital and the huge noodle soup we shared after the last check up I accompanied you for, your wonderful sense of humour, scolding Keith for ignoring his health, taking such wonderful care of Alex. These beautiful memories will be forever etched in my heart I promise to keep a close eye on Keith and Alex for you. I am sorry I took so long to write down these thoughts. Still grappling with your loss though I know you have moved to a better place. Be at peace Love always Regina Sheila Daniel & Andre
